Excessive oil content in bearings and boxes can cause bearing slippage
Excessive oil content in the self-aligning roller bearing and box can cause the rolling elements of the self-aligning roller bearing to slip, causing the rolling elements to change from rolling friction to sliding friction, damaging the rolling elements of the self-aligning roller bearing. Due to excessive oil content in the self-aligning roller bearing, the free space inside the self-aligning roller bearing box is small, the operating temperature of the self-aligning roller bearing will rise, the frequency of the lubricating grease will decrease, the lubricating oil film of the rolling elements will become thinner, the lubrication conditions will be poor, and it is easy to cause abnormal noise and surface slippage of the self-aligning roller bearing, shortening the life of the self-aligning roller bearing. Generally, there is a self-aligning roller bearing oil chamber on the end cover side (except for double sealed self-aligning roller bearings). According to the speed, the oil filling amount of the self-aligning roller bearing chamber can be executed according to the following standards: when the speed is less than 1500r/min, the oil filling amount is 2/3 of the volume of the self-aligning roller bearing chamber. When the speed is between 1500 and 3000 r/min, it is 1/2 of the volume of the self-aligning roller bearing chamber. When the speed is greater than 3000r/min, it should be less than or equal to one-third of the volume of the self-aligning roller bearing. In practical work, for self-aligning roller bearings operating at high temperatures and high speeds, it is advisable to minimize the use of self-aligning roller bearings with sealing surfaces, increase the oil storage capacity of the oil cap, and install fuel injectors to improve the operating life of the self-aligning roller bearings.
Foreign object intrusion can easily cause bearing failure
Foreign object intrusion. Try to use specialized tools and avoid using fabrics and short fibers as much as possible to prevent fine fibers from entering the self-aligning roller bearing and causing unnecessary damage. For example, when installing self-aligning roller bearings, the workers used the copper rod tapping method, which can easily cause uneven axial force on the self-aligning roller bearings, resulting in deformation of the cage, damage to the rolling elements, increased clearance, and copper powder flying into the self-aligning roller bearing cage during the tapping process, which can easily cause faults in the self-aligning roller bearings. What are the disadvantages of poor bearing installation
Poor installation. The installation of self-aligning roller bearings should follow the installation steps of self-aligning roller bearings and avoid rough installation and disassembly. Whether the self-aligning roller bearing is installed correctly is related to the service life of the self-aligning roller bearing, so everyone must pay attention to it. When installing self-aligning roller bearings, avoid holding them directly by hand, as sweat on your hands may also cause corrosion. Do not ignore small details. The most important thing during the installation of self-aligning roller bearings is not to allow strong stamping, and not to directly strike the self-aligning roller bearings with a hammer. It is not to be afraid of being damaged, but to be afraid of being deformed. Once deformed, the self-aligning roller bearings cannot be used. Also, it is not allowed to transmit pressure through rolling elements.
